Thank you for your interest in partnering with Habitat. The application period will open August 1 and close August 25, 2017.
There are five phases to becoming a Habitat Homeowner Partner:
Phase 1: Pre-Qualification

DURING THE OPEN APPLICATION PERIOD ONLY.
Please bring the following documents to your pre-screening appointment:
- Submit previous two years tax returns, Form 1040
- Pay stubs for the last 30 days for ALL income
- Proof of legal United States Citizenship or permanent residence status for any adults 19 or over: Birth Certificate, US Passport, Legal Alien Registration (Green Card) - Social Security Card
- Proof of any income or public assistance: Child Support, Disability etc.
Phase 2: Application Process
After Pre-Qualification approval, you will be given an application.

Due to the nature of our evaluation process, it may be several weeks before applicants receive notice on the status of their home ownership application. The process is managed by our Homeowner Selection Committee, we will contact you and invite you to an interview if you are qualified to begin Phase 3.
Phase 3: Applicant Interview
Our Homeowner Selection Committee will conduct interviews, approximately 1 hour long. During the interview, you will be asked several questions. If an interpreter is needed, please provide one. We will contact you to set up a time to conduct a Home Visit if you are qualified to begin Phase 4.
Phase 4: Home Visit
Our Homeowner Selection Committee will come to your current place of residence. Please be prepared to give a brief tour, and to discuss any problems you would like to point out about your home and/or neighborhood. We would enjoy meeting all members of the family during the home visit, especially any children or parents that are living with you currently.
After this phase, we will contact you to inform you if you have been chosen to become a Habitat Homeowner.
Phase 5: Sweat Equity
Shortly after the selection process is complete, you will be contacted about attending an orientation meeting. This meeting is conducted with all future homeowners chosen during that selection period along with a homebuyer partner assigned to each family. The orientation will provide information on expectations and how to get started.
Before you can begin accruing Sweat Equity hours in construction you will need to complete the Volunteer Waiver and Online Orientation. Please visit our Individual Volunteer page to begin.
You will need to complete between 300-400 total hours of Sweat Equity before moving into your completed Habitat home.
Unfortunately, the need for safe, adequate housing exceeds our ability to build. Many Habitat homeowners have had to apply several times before being accepted to the program.
